Every month as part of
'By Invitation Only'
a group of international women bloggers
write a post on a chosen subject.

This month's post is
Inspiration....who or what inspires you most.
Many people have and do inspire me but today my biggest inspiration
comes from my practice of

People turn to yoga for many different reasons but for me it is about the
inner journey...the essence of your being.
I have changed so much in the 10-years I have been practicing yoga...
I now listen to my inner voice.
Through discipline and the practice of yoga and meditation
I feel an inner calm that was not there before and that truly
inspires me....I don't ever want to lose it...

You cannot always control what goes on...on the outside... but you can always
control what goes on...in the  inside...

B.K.S. Iyengar one of the leading yoga teachers in the world says:

"Yoga is like music.  The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind and the
harmony of the soul creates the symphony of life."

Yoga is a way of life...that inspires me and that I aspire to...

  2. Catherine... this is wonderful... I need to follow your lead... and I will... Thank you for your inspiration... and by the way.... your blog looks really beautiful right now... I love the calmness and simplicity of it... xv

  3. When I saw the color of the first photo I nearly laughed out loud as it is so similar in tone to on my post as well--and then when I saw the subject, one dear to my heart, I let that smile right out! I would be at a loss without my yoga practice. Like you, I do it for what it opens up inside me. It is the moment when I feel most myself. Thank you for this beautiful post.

  4. How calming Catherine and truly inspirational...... just perfect for our BIO post this month too. Yoga must be so important to all who practice it. I used to do it many years ago so, like Vicki, I must try and follow your lead ..... inspiration indeed.
.....and, many thanks for your lovely birthday wishes. XXXX

  5. Precious one,

you are the second INSPIRATION writer I have visited this morning and it is splendid. Inspiration to me is just that:

To breathe into, to give life and then give back. We can only achieve that when we take care of ourselves, n'est-ce pas?

You are so lovely. Be well! Anita

  6. A lovely post...I'm going to print your Today To Do List and keep it in front of me. Have a great day.

  7. Interesting. I have practiced off and on, mostly off, for 40 years. Right now it's off. A group of women go at lunchtime, from my job. I have joined them once or twice. I need to go more often. I agree with you, it does help us access our inner quiet, to say nothing of the joy of a limber body.

  8. Catherine, I love the new look of your blog! It is beautiful and reflects my thoughts of you. And, about yoga. Everyone says this, but not in the way you have done, and I am challenging myself to begin. I need the peace it seems to bring. Thank you for this lovely post.

  9. Oh Catherine, how KIND of you to comment today. My grandmother was and always is a mystery to me...only stories and the photos I have will be what I can hang on to to know her. What a beauty, non?

    Enjoy your evening! Anita

  10. Catherine,

I want to say, thank you so very much for beyond wonderful feeling here by your post!

´´You cannot always control what goes on...on the outside... but you can always
control what goes on...in the inside...´´

    Absoultely agree!:-)*

What a wonderful images you choose,

Wish you a wonderful, creative week ahead!

  11. Oh Catherine so magical. My grandmother has always practiced yoga, and is in better shape than any 83 year old I know. Perhaps I should try it - not a very supple lady me - but perhaps that could change:)
    Happy day to you,

  12. So pretty Catherine and I think it's wonderful that you've found such peace and inspiration while practicing yoga. I studied with Baron and his protégés for year's and learned so much about the power of the mind and it's connection with the body. It's not easy to learn how to omit the clutter and tune in!

  13. With "Inspiration" as the theme, and at the suggestion of Marsh from Splenderosa, I am stopping by to introduce myself as well as to say Thank You for "Inspiring" me. You have Razzled and Dazzled and Wowed me with your creativity , talent, thoughts and ideas this past year.
Please stop by and say hello and leave a comment, they are always welcome. I hope not to disappoint, but rather compliment your work and inspire you as you have inspired me.

  14. Beautiful, powerful, wise words. The inner beauty in us is what brings true happiness.

  15. Ten years of taking care of your body and listening to your inner voice? That's wonderful inspiration to me.

  16. Catherine, I love this post!
Life is so much more richer when we listen to our inner messages.
I have always wanted to take up Yoga, maybe it's time?
    Thank you ... xx Coty

  17. Like Coty, I have also always wanted to try yoga but never have...

Catherine, you have definately started something, I think...there is nothing that can beat a feeling of inner peace, absoultely nothing..

Thank you for your vissit, So happy to be back!

  18. Catherine, what a lovely post ... it's amazing, I actually felt more calm just reading your words. I mentioned before that I've wanted to begin yoga and I haven't even begun yet. It seems weeks just fly by, my work schedule is hectic and before I know it it's another week. Rather than go to a class, I think I'll need to get some beginning yoga dvd's and try to start that way. What do you think? Thanks so much for stopping by this week, Catherine ... hope your week is a wonderful one! xo ~S
