THE IMPORTANCE OF TIME

I've taken time out a this week

and slowed the pace a little...

time was rushing by

and yet I was achieving 

NOTHING.

Time is

PRECIOUS

and sometimes you just have to

enjoy

SLOWLY...

Not a lot planned for this weekend

and I couldn't be

HAPPIER

I'm just happy being...

Armani Spring/Summer Collection

2012

I've always admired Giorgio Armani...

his style, designs and innate elegance and 

admiring his collection for the spring/summer this year

made me strangely reminiscent...

I think it's the beautiful dutch model who heads the campaign,

Milou Van Groesen.

It's her hair...it's the style I wore for most of my

twenties...I have to say, not as beautifully as her,

but nevertheless, it's the same style!

I adore nearly all this collection

and love Milou...

This jacket is fabulous...

And

my favourite

Such elegance...

If only I could...I would buy it all...

PHOTOGRAPHER'S SPOT: PATRICK DEMARCHELIER

I love the work of

French fashion photographer,

Patrick Demarchelier.

He worked as a freelance photographer in the 1970s;

working alongside the influential and brilliant photographer,

Henri Cartier-Bresson.

A much favoured photographer of

Princess Diana....

some of the best shots ever taken of her,

in my opinion.

He was also the first non-Briton to become an

official photographer for the Royal Family.

His work regularly appears in

Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper's Bazaar and Elle. 

He has shot international advertising campaigns for

Dior, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, YSL, Calvin Klein 

and Ralph Lauren.

In an extract from 

The Daily Telegraph

he says:

"The secret to getting a strong portrait is

spontaneity.  I like people to express themselves,

so I make them comfortable...you put people in a 

certain place, and if they have a moment - fantastic.

Usually it happens right away.  Before they stop to think.

THE SPACE BETWEEN THE NOTES

As much as I love 

fashion, art and photography

perhaps the subject most important

to my heart and soul is

YOGA...

I read something recently that I thought I'd share...

the great virtuoso pianist Arthur Schnabel said:

"The notes I handle no better than many pianists.

But the pauses between the notes - ah, that is

where art resides!"

As yogi devotee, Christy Turlington says:

"There is so much in life that we can't control

but there is also so much that we can control."
