wrote a piece on the timeless Meryl Streep

which made me think of another actress

with similar qualities...

I love to watch her films...

the first film being the

Fabulous Baker Boys...in which she was absolutely stunning.

The Age of Innocence is one of my favourites...

Up, Close and Personal with Robert Redford, 

I always need a box of tissues...

Dangerous Minds and more recently the brilliant

Stardust...this lady is a 

class act.

Her beauty has not diminished just grown

with the passing of the years.

She married writer/producer David Kelley

in 1993 the same year she adopted her daughter the following

year their son was born.

Still alluringly beautiful she does not appear to take

herself too seriously...saying ageing holds no fear...

She says:

"If you think hitting 40 is liberating, wait till you hit 50...

I was surprised how liberating it was."

I couldn't agree more...another fabulous role model.

THE BEAUTY OF AGE: DAPHNE SELFE

Daphne Selfe has been working as a model

for 63 years...now 83 she is in more demand

than ever...

Her 5ft 6in petite frame and wonderful long, white hair,

not forgetting her perfect posture...

have made her a favourite with

Mario Testino, Mary McCartney and

John Rankin.

Daphne says:

"I was a very ordinary model when I was younger.

I got to 80 and did rather a lot of modelling

because people thought this age was interesting."

I think it's inspiring to see such energy, enthusiasm

and beauty...

The younger Daphne in her early modelling days...

I think she is as beautiful today as she was in 

her twenties.
