INVITATION POST: CYCLES....OF LEARNING

Tuesday, 4 September 2012

I'm writing this post as part of a blogging venture
put together by my lovely American blogger friend, Marsha
@
 http://www.splenderosa.blogspot.com
This month's post is
CYCLES.

As a twenty-something I would never have
imagined I would be the person I am today...
innately a worrier I have worked hard
to not worry and to not be consumed by it...it's been hard but
through
CYCLES OF LEARNING
and my practice of
YOGA
I'm definitely getting there...

From the first time I unrolled my yoga mat all those
years ago I have been on a continual
CYCLE
OF
LEARNING

To be
PATIENT AND KIND
with
ONESELF

Life is a
CYCLE
all life is yoga...every moment is an opportunity
for training the mind through practice and
LEARNING
Yoga refines ourselves...the practice of
MINDFULNESS
COMPASSION
AND
GRACE

CYCLES...

The cycles of life through the life and words of Buddha are powerful, inspirational and harsh at time. Your words are so poignant and your images evoque the beauty of one's inner self.

I so love that saying you used about how beautiful people are not just born. No, it takes work, like a fine sculpture of marble. Life chips away at us. Some people break and never recover, some people use the cracks and imperfections to build a life of compassion and sensitivity to others. We are the work of art and the artist at the same time.....quite brilliant of a design I should say....

You are beautiful inside and out, Catherine. It is so nice to know you! Anita

Just beautiful. When I saw that your "cycles" would be that of learning I smiled but when I saw how it applied to yoga, I thought "ahhh". My yoga practice has helped me in so many ways and hopefully, will continue on as long as I live. I will think of you when I roll out my mat later this afternoon!

... the cycle of life. Yoga is a wonderful way to slow the mind and allow for personal growth.. while making the body stronger and healthier. I admire your commitment Catherine!!

Beautiful post Catherine - I have never done yoga but my nana does it, and she is so poised even at the age of 82. Maybe I should give it a try.

The hardest thing is to learn something new once we are mature. I so appreciate these thoughts, Catherine. I didn't know Yoga taught you these things, as I am a worrier myself, and think I should take this up soon. A lovely, thoughtful post from a splendid & talented woman, once again.
