As most of you will know by now I adore
black and white photography.
It communicates differently to me than a colour photograph.
For me...it holds such mastery...I collect
photography and can spend hours at exhibitions and galleries...
one of my favourite things to do...
Here are a few of my
FAVOURITES

DANCE
Fred Astaire

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND

Such amazingly classy images - LOVE the ballet shoes.
Happy weekend Dear Catherine,
Ax
All these photos are beautiful ; I especially like the ballet one because it's not of the usual ethereal type but it shows all the hard work that goes into dancing. And is there a bad photo of Lisa Fonsagrives ?
Oh that famous photo by Irving Penn is one of my favorites dear Catherine! And I too adore black and white photography, sometimes even MORE than color. My older blog template was adorned with photos of Audrey, as I see you have here. I have to retrieve them and insert them in again for I lost many of those photos when the new template was installed. But I love to think of black and white photography like poetry.....a way to leave just enough to the observer to FIGURE OUT the colors, the rest of the story....
Have a SPARKLING DAY! Anita
B & W photography is like mime art, singing without voice and color, yet you hear and see it even better. I share your admiration Catherine.
Ruben Lizana image is the best, very dramatic.
PS. Don't know why but your blog wasn't autoupdated on my blog roll for 2 moths! I'm catching up.
one thing i always think about when i look at black and white photographs is that it is amazing how many expressions and emotions you can get from a picture through just grayscale!
